I'm Yolanda Olavarria- founder of
Respect Me Project and Pentad Thinking™.​
My background spans education technology, healthcare, people operations, communication, and emergency management. That breadth shaped a perspective I bring to everything: we are living through the largest generational transition in U.S. labor history- unfolding at the exact same time AI is reshaping how work gets done.
Generational difference and AI disruption aren't friction points- they're leverage points for organizations willing to meet them intentionally.


Our Story

Respect Me Project was founded in early 2020, at the exact moment the pandemic forced a reckoning most workplaces had been avoiding. Outdated systems collapsed. Unsustainable norms became impossible to ignore. What began as an examination of the recruitment process evolved naturally- because the problems ran deeper than any single pipeline.
Respect Me Project was built on a premise most organizations are still catching up to: the way we welcome, develop, and retain emerging talent is broken- and fixing it starts with actually listening to them.

How organizations show up for emerging talent isn't just a culture question- it's a sustainability question. The pipelines, institutional knowledge, and adaptive capacity that organizations depend on tomorrow are built by the people they invest in today. Through mentorship, research, storytelling, and collaboration with students and early-career professionals, we examine how the next generation can navigate recruitment, workplace culture, and professional growth on their own terms.

Our collaboration with University of Florida students is central to how this project works. They don't just contribute- they co-create. Their research, ideas, and lived experience help us track real workplace trends and develop resources that actually meet emerging talent where they are.

Those insights feed directly into Pentad Thinking™- a cognitive framework designed to sharpen communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration in workplaces where humans and AI work side by side.​

The belief driving all of it is straightforward: talent that's understood performs better, adapts faster, and builds systems that outlast any one hire.
